Style Forecast: Fall Fashion Preview

 Fall Fashion Preview

Even though the summer is hot as ever the days are definitely getting shorter and fall is just around the corner. As much as I love the sunshine there is something wonderfully romantic about the crisp air of fall which requires some cozying up in a blanket with a cup of hot tea. Moreover, all those outfits too hot to wear for summer tucked away in your closet can finally be brought out and spiced up with new pieces. Here are some preview trends for fall fashion.

One of my favorite things about this year’s fall fashion is the mix and match-ability of all the looks. Layering sweaters, prints, scarves with different combinations of skirts, tights, and pants allows you to stretch your wardrobe. Autumn hues of pumpkin and burnt red in this H&M dress are a perfect fit with these ombre tights from the BZR shop on Etsy. Wearing a belt will accentuate your waist while the dress flares to hide any trouble areas. The second look and third looks are perfect for day to day errands and can be mixed and matched! This Tory Burch scarf and the Paige denim can be interchanged with these fun teal Anthropologie Pilcro pants and striped J.Crew sweater. The fourth looks hits on two hot trends this season: tweed and femme-men’s wear. The sequined collar of this Mason Scotch shirt is brilliant and looks great paired with this tweed Nanette Lepore pencil skirt. For the final look, I love what J.Crew has done with the printed floral trend with these satin cropped pants. The pants work best with a simple top like this pintucked shirt from Anthropologie, but don’t be afraid to try another solid color!

Tory Burch takes the cake with these Nadine riding boots, a versatile and well designed boot that looks amazing with just about everything from skirts to skinny jeans. Hooray! UGG Australia is no longer synonymous with the fleece boots so often inappropriately worn with miniskirts. Instead, I love these grown up chic leather booties shown in the top middle image. Anthropologie has a great men’s wear twist on the bootie with their two-tone oxford heels (which would look great with the tweed skirt and the sequined collar button up!). Another variation on the oxford comes in the form of this season’s hot trend: smoking slippers like these from J. Crew. These leopard print Jimmy Choos are so fabulous but give them the attention they deserve by keeping the rest of the outfit less busy!
