 New Year, New You

Now that 2013 has arrived and you’ve made your resolutions consider adding one more resolution to your list. You know how powerful presentation and image can be in business and social situations, now it’s time to take hold of your closet and your personal style with these simple tips.
Projecting confidence through your personal style is critical to success and starts in your closet. Eliminate worn out and nonessential items and clothes that don’t fit. Ill-fitting clothes are never a good idea! If you haven’t worn it in a year or more (with the exception of formal wear like tuxedos) get rid of it. Weeding out those pieces that you are not totally in love with will help clarify your closet, making it easier to see the outfits that you need. If cleaning out your closet seems too daunting a task, break it up into several sessions. Once a week for ten minutes go through your closet and winnow out the pieces you know you can live without. Repeat weekly until your closet only holds items you will actually wear and look good on you.
Transforming your look is easy when you know how to accessorize. Start with basic pieces, for example tailored slacks or a pencil skirt and a white button down for the office. Enliven the look by alternating chunky necklaces, jackets, printed blouses, different colors and textures. These easy changes stretch your closet for maximum use with minimal expense.

Try new combinations, be bold and most of all be confident! Think of the new year as an opportunity to assess and develop your personal style. Taking charge of your image will affect your business and social relationships positively.
